At AlpinHaus Shepherds we are Dutch Shepherd specialists. Our Personal and Family Protection Dogs are drawn from specific European lines of FCI Dutch Shepherds. We focus on purebred Dutch Shepherds for Protection because we believe they are the most beautiful, highest-performance family-protection dogs that exist. Each of AlpinHaus Shepherds Protection Dogs are incredibly special.

Very few are produced.While we will work with adult dogs when extremely exceptional ones become available, our approach thus far has been to create our Dogs from the time they are puppies. AlpinHaus Protection Dogs are raised in the home and mountains here at the confluence of the Swiss, Italian and French Alps. They are fed a biologically appropriate, raw food diet. They are all very social, very sweet and incredibly loving, each with their own highly engaging and idiosyncratic personalities. All of our Protection Dogs have ON and OFF switches. No one that meets them ever thinks that they are Protection Dogs.

How We Train Protection

Not sure what to look for in a Protection Dog? Then you were just like us when we started. It’s very confusing. You are told many different things by different people and there is no way of easily reconciling the information given or determining who to really listen to. And when you are looking at Protection Dogs that companies and persons are offering… what do you see?

You see photos. Or maybe a little bit of video. Or perhaps a Dog with a title. And of course, very little of this of this is what you want or need to see when looking for a real Protection Dog. So you end up guessing. And what makes it worse is that, the sad truth is that most Dogs that are sold as Protection Dogs can NOT be actually counted on to Protect you. Here we take you through just some of what we do at AlpinHaus and the lengths that we go through to ensure that our Dogs are reliable. And reliable in all ways– in Society, in your Home, with your Friends and Family, and in Protection.

This is what you will want to see and understand when evaluating Protection Dogs, and it helps to explain why AlpinHaus is different than all the rest.

ALL OFF-LEASH

Level I Threat Deterrence is the point of departure for AlpinHaus Protection Dogs. At its foundation is a comprehensive real-world suite of Obedience capabilities that we have yet to see rivaled by anyone, anywhere. From a Protection standpoint, The Level I AlpinHaus Protection Dog, as he stands by your side, on or off leash, will Bark-on-Command at a potential Threat, if you deem it appropriate. This is enough to de-escalate the vast majority of all potential problems most people might encounter. The Level I AlpinHaus Protection Dog is not trained to actually defend or attack through bitework.

THREAT DETERRENCE features:

Bark-on-Command

With the command “Pass-Auf!” given by you, AlpinHaus Protection Dogs will bark at the person you are facing, effectively warning them not to come closer or do anything aggressive. This will continue until the person leaves or until you offer the command, “Quiet!”, at which point our Dog will go silent await further instruction. These capabilities, when combined with the real-world AlpinHaus Elite Obedience, is all most people will ever need in a Protection Dog.

ALL OFF-LEASH

With Level I Threat Deterrence as the foundation, Level II Direct Action is a highly expanded collection of Protection Capabilities that will satisfy almost all of the Protection requirements that almost anyone would have. AlpinHaus Direct Action Protection Dogs are unique in their abilities to execute their commands and do so at a very sophisticated, unparalleled level.

Level II is where AlpinHaus Dogs become actually lethal. They will Attack on Command, Stop Attacking on Command, Re-Attack either by Command or by Automatic Trigger and can execute a true Bark-and Hold, amongst other things. At the heart of Level II capabilities lies Activated Defense Mode, a state of Readiness that AlpinHaus Dogs possess that creates a level of hyper-intelligent security for their Owner/Handlers.

AlpinHaus Level II Protection Dogs have ON and OFF Switches that are very, very well defined and reliable.

direct action features:

Bark-&-Hold

At your command, the AlpinHaus Protection Dog will run and place a Threat into an AlpinHaus Bark & Hold, wherein our Dog will pin the Threat in-place after you instruct the Threat to remain still. This gives you time to call the police while the AlpinHaus Protection Dog is in front of the Threat facing it down, barking at him or her and keeping the Threat fully neutralized. If the Threat moves to attack either the Dog or you, or if the Threat tries to flee from position, he or she will be immediately neutralized by the AlpinHaus Protection Dog and brought to the ground.

Attack on Command

Once our Dog is given the Command, it will run and Attack the Threat it perceives, bringing the Threat to the ground and quickly neutralizing it. AlpinHaus Protection Dogs are trained in very specific ways to execute Attacks that take into consideration the Target of the bite, the Method of biting and the Ground Game that results after the bite.

Stop Attack

When Commanded, the AlpinHaus Protection Dog will Stop the Attack on the Threat and standby in Activated Defense Mode, next to the Threat, waiting for further instructions.

Re-Attack

If a Stop Attack has been Commanded, and the Threat moves improperly, usually either to escape or fight back at either the Dog or You, the AlpinHaus Protection Dog will Automatically re-ignite the Attack until commanded again to Stop or until the Threat stops moving.

Return to Owner

Once our Dog is done Defending you and you are satisfied that the Threat is neutralized, you can Command the AlpinHaus Protection Dog to come back to you in the Heel position. Upon arrival, our Dog will remain in Activated Defense Mode, fully ready to Re-Attack if appropriate.

Auto-Attack

If the AlpinHaus Protection Dog has been Commanded to Bark at someone threatening, and that person tries to attack either you or the Dog, the Dog will Automatically Defend you by Attacking the Assailant. No Command need be given in this specific circumstance. The same will apply if the Dog has a Threat pinned in a Bark & Hold. Note – Our Dogs will NEVER Auto-Attack someone unless it has been placed into Activated Defense Mode via either a Bark-on-Command or a Bark & Hold order.

ALL OFF-LEASH

With Level II Direct Action as the foundation, Level III Dynamic Defense is a suite of capabilities unique to AlpinHaus. No one else in the world offers these sophisticated combinations of skillsets with the same degree of fluency at this truly Elite level.

The AlpinHaus Protection Dog is trained to stay with you as you move, regardless of how you move, as a Threat moves as well. Going backwards, sideways, circles, forwards, diagonally, it doesn’t matter, the Dog will stay by your side facing off against the Threat. This will allow you to turn around and walk away knowing that if the Threat closes in on you and moves to attack, your Dog will Defend you.

It also allows you the space to find your way through challenging terrain or circumstances knowing that you are safe the entire time. This is also a perfect skill set for younger or older persons in your family as they will not have to think too much when faced with a threatening situation. Additionally, incorporating The Stand Down and The Transport into the universe of possible Protection scenarios offers you complete control over any scenario that might arise.

DYNAMIC DEFENSE features:

The Stand Down

The Stand Down is the centerpiece to maximum fluency between Commands that the AlpinHaus Protection Dog has mastered. It gives you wider range of action because it creates space and time for more possibilities for you to calmly take direction of a threatening situation and assume control of its outcome.

The Transport

The Transport allows you to not just stop a Threat in its tracks but to also take complete control of it. Disarming the Threat, checking pockets for weapons and ultimately moving the Threat under cover of complete safety, should you elect to do so, are all now available to you.

Call Off

If the AlpinHaus Protection Dog has been Commanded to either place someone in a Bark & Hold or Commanded to Attack a Threat, and is running to towards the Threat to execute the Command and you decide to Call Off the Dog, thereby cancelling the previous Command, you can do this upon Command. The AlpinHaus Protection Dog will Stop and Return to Owner.

X Line by AlpinHaus.

X Line features two Level III Dynamic Defense Dogs working in tandem together so as to guarantee that a Threat is neutralized. X Line presents the answer to the question, “But What If….” that inevitably arises when contemplating Planning and Response Mechanisms to Threat Scenarios. In the highly unlikely event that one of the AlpinHaus Protection Dogs is taken out of commission during a live Scenario, the other one is there to complete the Mission and ensure it’s Success. For those that leave nothing to chance and refuse to accept low-probability / high-impact risks, X Line is the answer. X Line Dogs are the most expensive Protection Dogs in the world. They are raised from puppies born of the same litter. X Line Dogs take a projected 2 years to develop. Only two pairs of X Line Dogs are currently being prepared per year.
