Family Protection Dogs
Our Family Protection Dogs are trained to defend your loved ones while living peacefully within your home—obedient, safe, and emotionally connected to your Family.
Protection That Becomes Part of the Family
AlpinHaus Family Protection Dogs are expertly trained to defend your loved ones while seamlessly integrating into your home. They combine unmatched obedience, social stability, and protective training tailored for family life.
What is a Family Protection Dog?
A Family Protection Dog is a canine that’s been professionally trained to respond to threats—but lives comfortably and safely within a home environment. These Dogs are different from traditional protection dogs. They don’t just display all-purpose aggression; they are social and affable family pets that understand their surroundings, love their family, and stay calm under pressure.
At AlpinHaus, we raise our Dogs in real-life settings, so they’re already used to the sounds, chaos, and rhythm of daily home life. Whether it’s toddlers running through the hallways or teenagers coming home late, your dog will come to understand what’s normal—and what isn’t.

Why Choose a Family Protection Dog?
When it comes to your family, nothing is more important than their safety—and nothing protects quite like a trained, intuitive companion who’s always with you. Our dogs are not just trained for action; they’re raised for harmony.
You’re getting:
– 24/7 presence and protection in your home
– A calm, loving and loyal companion for your children
– Real-time on-demand threat response
– Structured, stable behavior inside and outside your home
– A Guardian that cannot be bribed or otherwise influenced
It’s peace of mind you can see—and feel.

Tailoring the best Breeds for Family Life
We work with two most elite working breeds on earth. Due to our unique training methodology, we can develop these Dogs into strong-bonding Family companions that have the easy emotional control you need and the reliable high-performance you want.

Dutch Shepherds
Unique and stunning, Dutch Shepherds are basically the same as and Belgian Malinois, just with different coat colors. They have been inter-bred for over a century, but recently the movement to create the official Dutch Shepherd breed has created greater differentiation between the breeds. The Dutch Shepherd gene pool is much smaller than that of the Malinois, and so finding exceptional Dutch Shepherds is harder.

Belgian Malinois
Belgian Malinois, like their brethren the Dutch Shepherd, have been bred for over a century for athleticism, health, intelligence and drive. Like Dutch Shepherds, they are the Olympians of the canine world, and they alone can meet the demands of the most consequential tests and environments Dogs are ever needed to deploy into. Because at AlpinHaus we want the healthiest, best Dogs to take to the highest levels, these are the only two breeds we will work with.
Our Family-Focused Training Program
We don’t train our Family Protection Dogs in isolation—we raise them in real-world conditions that mirror the environments they’ll eventually call home. From day one, they are immersed in the sights, sounds, and unpredictability of modern family life. Additionally, we layer on top of this our proprietary Socialization training, which is one of the key components that make our Dogs the world’s best. This together ensures that every AlpinHaus Dog enters your home fully prepared—not just with obedience, but with the calm confidence needed to adapt to complex, dynamic households.

Elite real-world off-leash obedience
Our Dogs respond to every command with immediate accuracy, even in busy, high-distraction settings. Whether it’s a crowded park, a noisy home, or an unfamiliar airport, your dog will remain steady, composed, and under full control—without the need for a leash.

Threat Recognition & Handler Response
Unlike many Dogs regrettably offered from several leading Protection Dog providers, AlpinHaus Dogs will never be found aggressively biting people randomly here are there, for no good reason. They must be turned ON into Activated Defense Mode to switch them into a state of Protection, and will never mistake a family member for a real actual threat.

Child-Safe Behavior & Household Etiquette
Each dog is trained around children of almost all ages, learning to respect boundaries, toys, meals, and different energy levels and styles. Whether it’s playtime in the backyard or downtime in the living room, your dog knows how to behave safely and without aggression.

Travel Readiness & Public Confidence
AlpinHaus Dogs are crate-trained, vehicle-ready, and socially stable in public places. Whether you’re running errands, taking family trips, or navigating urban environments, your Dog adapts effortlessly and behaves with poise. Exactly as you would want a family pet to behave.
What Sets Our Dogs Apart
We’re not just creating trained Protection Dogs—we’re building deeply bonded, emotionally intelligent family-members that understand your lifestyle and adapt to your rhythm. Every AlpinHaus Dog is shaped by a proven methodology rooted in safety, loyalty, and everyday compatibility.

Family-First Temperament
Emotional stability is non-negotiable. We develop Dogs that exhibit calm confidence, sound judgment, and a loving ability to bond with children and family members.
Real-World Socialization
Our Dogs are raised in family homes—complete with daily routines, noises, visitors, and varied social dynamics. Additionally, they’re actively trained and developed in a wide variety of environments with our proprietary methodology. Lastly, AlpinHaus Dogs have definitive On and Off switches that move them from being happy and playful to being fierce and effective Protectors. All of this combined is why no one else can achieve the same reliable levels of high-performance and social stability that we do.
Real-world protection
AlpinHaus’ Defense-First Approach means that our Protection Dogs can be piloted by different family members at a wide variety of ages. Our Dogs do not require leashes and require less management than any other Protection Dog on earth, all while delivering greater performance. This allows a real-world situation to be able to be much more successfully dealt with, even enabling our Dogs to be handled by children as young as 9 years old.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before bringing home a Family Protection Dog.
Are Family Protection Dogs safe around young children?
Yes—our Family Protection Dogs are specifically selected and trained for emotional stability and child-safe behavior. Each dog is socialized in real-world family settings, including exposure to children of all ages, household noise, and typical family routines. This ensures they’re not only protective but also calm, gentle, and trustworthy within a family environment.
What makes a Family Protection Dog different from a guard dog?
A family protection dog is trained to protect while remaining emotionally connected, obedient, and safe within the home. Guard dogs are typically territorial and aggressive, often trained solely to defend a property. Our Family Protection Dogs are several levels above this, and integrate into your daily life, offering dependable security and affectionate companionship without compromising safety.
How do the Dogs know when to protect and when to relax?
AlpinHaus Dogs are trained to switch into Activated Defense Mode upon command, and guard their Handler accordingly until they are switched off out of Defense Mode. When switched off, they return to being the loving friendly family companions that they were earlier.
Can your Dogs adapt to new homes or frequent travel?
Yes — AlpinHaus Dogs are trained for high adaptability. They are crate-trained, vehicle-trained, and exposed to various environments including airports, city streets, and rural areas. Whether you’re relocating or traveling often, your Dog will remain composed, obedient, and secure in unfamiliar surroundings.
How do you ensure the Dog is the right match for our household?
Every placement begins with a thorough consultation. We take into account your lifestyle, household structure, children, other pets, and unique safety needs. From there, we match you with a Dog whose temperament, energy level, and Protection Training aligns perfectly with your home environment. This is the most important step.
What breeds do you recommend for Family Protection?
There are several breeds that people can turn to for Family Protection. But at AlpinHaus we work with the exact same Dogs that we use for Personal Protection – the 2 breeds that offer the highest performance and quality of health – The Belgian Malinois and the Dutch Shepherd. Many trainers cannot work with these breeds for Family Protection because they do not know how to develop the Dogs properly for family environments. But at AlpinHaus, we understand both of these factors, very very well.
Do you offer support after the Dog is delivered?
Yes — but first it is key note that our Integration Journey onboarding ensures a smooth transition for both our Dog and your family. We focus on training the entire family how to work with and pilot our Dog(s) as necessary. Beyond that we always expect to be able to support our Clients for life as required by each Client’s specific circumstance.
