The most elite personal protection breeds
We work exclusively with the two highest level working breeds on earth. Bred for over a century for performance, they consistently demonstrate sharp awareness, emotional control, and the physical capabilities needed for the highest-level personal protection training that we do at AlpinHaus Shepherds..

Dutch Shepherds
Unique and stunning, Dutch Shepherds are basically the same as and Belgian Malinois, just with different coat colors. They have been interbred for over a century, but recently the movement to create the official Dutch Shepherd breed has created greater differentiation between the breeds. The Dutch Shepherd gene pool is much smaller than that of the Malinois, and so finding exceptional Dutch Shepherds is harder.

Belgian Malinois
Belgian Malinois, like their brethren the Dutch Shepherd, have been bred for over a century for athleticism, health, intelligence and drive. They are the Olympians of the canine world, and they alone can meet the demands of the most consequential tests and environments Dogs are ever needed to deploy into. Because at AlpinHaus we want the healthiest, best Dogs to take to the highest levels, these are the only two breeds we will work with.
Our Elite Personal Protection Training
AlpinHaus Personal Protection Dogs are developed through a structured, real-world training program designed to ensure control, capability, and readiness in any environment. This isn’t theoretical performance—this is advanced, experiential training rooted in real-life exposure and handler-focused responsiveness.

Advanced off-leash obedience
Your Dog will respond reliably to commands—even in high-distraction, high-pressure situations such as airports, crowded events, public transit, or unfamiliar cities. No leash required. This level of control is a cornerstone of true personal protection, ensuring your Dog remains composed and responsive at your side, no matter the setting.

Command-Based Bitework and Release Protocols
With our many Protection Dogs 2.0 innovations, from our Defense-First Approach to our Activated Defense Mode, AlpinHaus Dogs are trained to engage threats unlike any other Dogs on earth. Unlike traditional guard dogs that may react instinctively or aggressively, our Dogs are trained to engage only when instructed. Bitework and combatives are precise, calculated, and entirely command-driven. Whether it’s a targeted strike or an immediate disengagement, our Dogs responds solely to you—putting full control back in the handler’s hands.

Seamless Integration into Public and Private Life
Our Personal Protection Dogs are trained in the environments you actually live and move through—homes, vehicles, hotels, parks, airports, and office settings. This ensures your Dog is calm and effective whether traveling cross-country or walking downtown, providing protection that doesn’t disrupt your lifestyle.

Emotional Stability and Control Under Stress
Our training emphasizes psychological resilience. Our Dogs are conditioned to remain level-headed and discerning under duress, never reacting out of fear, overstimulation, or misjudged cues. Whether facing loud noises, unpredictable behavior, or complex social situations, your Dog remains alert, in control, focused and ready.
What Sets AlpinHaus Dogs Apart
Bringing home an AlpinHaus Personal Protection Dog means more than just security. You’re gaining a highly trained, emotionally intelligent partner who’s been developed with intention, experience, and unmatched expertise. Everything we do is grounded in real-world application, backed by proven methodology, and driven by the belief that true protection should never compromise your lifestyle.

Exceptional Genetics
We begin with the best. Our Dogs come from world-class hand-selected breedings from very specific high-performance working bloodlines. Our Dogs are selected for their health, intelligence, temperament, athleticism, and work ethic. The genetic lines we draw from are health-tested and behaviorally evaluated to ensure they’re built for protection work and stable enough to integrate into everyday life.
Real-World Conditioning
Our training doesn’t take place in a vacuum. We condition our Dogs in real environments, with real and intense distractions and pressure—cars, crowds, homes, airports, hotels—so they learn how to stay composed and responsive no matter what’s happening around them. This makes them prepared not just for threats, but for life with you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before bringing home a Personal Protection Dog.
What exactly is a Personal Protection Dog?
A Personal Protection Dog is a highly trained canine that protects you wherever you go—home, travel, or public spaces. These Dogs are taught to detect and respond to threats under command, while still being calm, socially compatible, and under control in everyday life.
How does a protection dog differ from a guard dog?
Guard dogs are often tasked with property defense and may act without direction. Personal Protection Dogs, by contrast, work closely with a handler. They respond to commands, are trained for obedience, and maintain composure in stressful environments.
Are Personal Protection Dogs safe around children?
Yes. Safety around children and in society at large is foundational. We specifically train for emotional stability, and each Dog undergoes extensive socialization in homes and out in public, using our proprietary training methodology. This ensures they can distinguish between real threats and normal family activity, and will never pose a risk to anyone without clear cause.
How long does training take before the dog is ready?
Typical timelines range depending on the training level and tasks required. Basic protection capability may take several months. More advanced training—bitework, scenario‑based threat response, off‑leash behavior—can take up to two years or more.
What kind of commands and behaviors will the dog know?
Our Dogs master advanced off‑leash obedience, bitework and release (attack, stop, re‑attack), activated defense mode, command‑based responses (like transport or call‑off), and situational awareness. All training is designed for real world scenarios.
Can a Personal Protection Dog protect me when I travel or in public?
Yes. Travel readiness and public integration are core parts of the program. Dogs are trained in unfamiliar settings—cars, hotels, airports, outdoor venues—to behave confidently under pressure.
How do you match the right dog to my lifestyle or threat level?
We begin with a detailed consultation that considers your daily routine, living situation, travel frequency, protection requirements, environment, and any families or pets in the household. That data helps us pair you with a dog whose temperament, training level, and skills align best with your reality.
What kind of upkeep or maintenance is required as the dog grows with me?
Ongoing reinforcement is critical. Even after delivery, handler training, physical conditioning, mental stimulation, and consistent structure are necessary to maintain obedience and readiness. We provide guidance and support so you’re always equipped to manage the dog confidently.
What happens if the dog has a health issue or genetic issue later?
We offer a full 100% health guarantee covering genetic conditions (hips, elbows, etc.) for no less than 5 years. And a limited guarantee for the 2 years that follow. We also conduct regular health testing and use breeding lines known for strong health metrics and temperament stability.
Can you deliver internationally, and how does the transition work?
Yes, we offer global delivery with white‑glove service. This is all part of the Integration Journey—meaning handler orientation, behavior framing, environment familiarization, travel training, and post‑delivery support so your new family member acclimates well to your home and routines.
