Level II: Direct Action

When de-escalation isn’t enough—advanced commands and controlled physical defense for true Protection readiness.

Strength Meets Precision

Building on the Socialization, Obedience and deterrence of Level I, Level II: Direct Action equips our Dogs with advanced, controlled defensive capabilities. This level introduces bitework, advanced, real-world combatives and unique, AlpinHaus automatic defense responses — delivered reliably and only when needed.

What’s Included in Level 2 Training

Alpinhaus DEFENSE-FIRsT APPROACH:  The AUTO-ATTACK

One of the many innovations unique to AlpinHaus Shepherds. When activated, your Dog will stay by your side, off-leash, barking at a threat in an effort to deter it.  You are under control, knowing that if the threat comes towards you to attack you, or the Dog, your Dog will automatically intercept the attack and engage the threat in an effort to end the attack quickly and decisively.  While all this is happening you are free and can talk to the Threat to de-escalate, film the event with your phone and or call the police.

Attack on command

When directed, your Dog will engage with tactical precision: a targeted biting attack, continued combatives, and disciplined ground fighting—all executed by your instruction.  This command is a last resort and would generally only be used if you see the Threat attempting to draw a gun to attack you at distance.

Stop Attack

Once the threat has been neutralized and has stopped fighting, your Dog halts the engagement instantly upon command, remaining in a heightened standby state—still in Activated Defense Mode – attentive, alert, and ready for the next instruction or to take action if necessary.

Re-Attack

Should the threat escalate again, your Dog responds immediately—either by your instruction or via automatic triggers—until you command otherwise.

Return to owner

Once the Threat is fully neutralized and you are ready to conclude the matter, you call your AlpinHaus Dog back to your side.  At this point your Dog remains in Activated Defense Mode, ready to act again immediately if necessary or, if you wish, you can turn him or her off and immediately return your Dog to a normal state of being in the way our Post-Protection Socialization has prepared your Dog for being.

Watch Our Training In Action

Another of the innovations at AlpinHaus that enable our Protection Dogs ascend into a realm all their own is that our Dogs are trained to have control while in a state of aggression.

Elsewhere you may see Dogs that have control, or Dogs that are in aggression, but never both elements simultaneously together.  Combining them is one of the core features of Protection Dogs 2.0.

Below we outline in great detail the various elements involved in our Direct Action Dogs so you can understand all of the nuances of the performance clearly.

Level II: Direct Action Overview

Get an inside look at what sets Level II apart. This video provides a comprehensive overview of the Direct Action training tier—introducing the advanced commands and real-world protection responses that elevate your Dog’s ability from deterrent to world’s best canine defender.

Auto-Attack

Here, you’ll see our Protection Dogs react instinctively when a threat becomes imminent through aggressive action. When already in Activated Defense Mode, no verbal cue is needed—your Dog knows when and how to act to protect you.

Stop Attack

Watch how swiftly and reliably our Dogs transition from active defense to standby. With a single word, the dog halts the engagement and holds position, demonstrating discipline and obedience under pressure and in aggression.  Note further – and this is very important, that this command happens when the Dog is at distance from its handler.  As is required in the real world.

Re-Attack

See how a Level II Dog responds when a threat re-escalates. Whether triggered by command or a threat’s movement, the Dog re-engages instantly and effectively—without confusion or hesitation.

Return to Owner

Even while in a state of aggression, the Dog responds calmly and obediently, returning to heel on command. This video shows how we train dogs to re-center and remain alert and ready while beside their handler.

Attack on Command

This clip demonstrates the Dog’s precise response to a direct Attack command. Observe the technique, speed, and control with which our Dogs neutralize threats—always intentional, always precise, always targeted, never reckless.
